Terms of Service
The terms governing use of the Scan To Move marketplace for customers, licensed movers, dealers, and affiliate partners.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, scanning a home, submitting a bid, or otherwise using Scan To Move, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. What Scan To Move is
Scan To Move is a marketplace. You record a video walkthrough of your home with your phone, our AI builds a measured inventory from that footage, and licensed, insured moving companies bid on the job. Scan To Move does not perform moves, does not own trucks, and does not employ movers. The moving contract is between the customer and the moving company they book.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, verify your email address, and be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for activity on your account. Moving companies must complete verification before bidding.
4. Scans and inventory accuracy
Your AI-measured inventory is generated from the footage and photos you provide. Items outside the scan, inside closed drawers, or in unscanned rooms will not appear in it. If the actual shipment differs materially from the inventory, a mover may submit a billing adjustment, which Scan To Move reviews before any additional charge is presented to you.
5. Payments and escrow
When you accept a bid you pay a 30% deposit to book the job. The remaining 70% is charged after the move is marked complete and documented. A credit-card processing fee is shown separately at checkout. Funds are held and released through our payment processor; Scan To Move does not store your full card details.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Deposits are refundable according to the cancellation window shown at booking and the mover's stated policy. Disputes over completed work are handled between the customer and the moving company; Scan To Move may pause the release of remaining funds while a dispute is reviewed.
7. Mover requirements
- Valid state or federal (USDOT/MC) operating authority where required
- Current liability and cargo insurance
- Honoring submitted bids for the scanned inventory and stated conditions
- Accurate, professional communication with customers
8. Platform fees
Scan To Move is free for customers. Moving companies pay a 10% platform fee on completed jobs only — no subscriptions and no per-lead charges. Affiliate partners earn 5% commission on completed referred moves.
9. Contact information and privacy
Customer contact details stay anonymous to bidding movers until a bid is accepted. Movers receive inventory, location, and job-condition data needed to price the job. Misusing customer data, or contacting customers outside the platform before acceptance, terminates a mover account.
10. SMS and email communications
By providing a phone number you consent to transactional SMS about your move, bids, and payments. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out; opting out may prevent time-sensitive move updates.
11. Limitation of liability
Scan To Move provides the marketplace and measurement tools "as is" and is not liable for loss, damage, delay, or injury caused by a moving company, or for inventory estimates that differ from the actual shipment. Claims for damage during a move are handled under the mover's insurance and tariff.
